All-girls team win the green hydrogen decarbonisation challenge

NATIONAL WINNERS HEAD TO LONDON!

All-girls team of Year 10 pupils from Rougemont School has won the green hydrogen decarbonisation challenge

The “Green Hydrogen Decarbonisation Challenge
2025” invites students from secondary schools across
Wales to design a comprehensive green hydrogen
solution to decarbonise a community or large-scale
event scheduled in Wales in 2025.
Team Rougemont’s submission: “Hydrogen-powered
Usk Show Proposal” was the winner after the judging
panel praised the team’s well-researched and
innovative approach detailing community and
environmental benefits.
The Team will now head to London upon their return to
School to visit the Marubeni Headquarters to discuss
their project and meet the team before heading to
Whitehall to present their winning submission to
Ministers.
We look forward to sharing a full report on what will be
an extraordinary experience for the team in our next
issue.
Congratulations girls and good luck in London!
